Lately I've been super obsessed with nails! I got my first pedicure a couple months ago and now I'm hooked. When I'm bored I like to try new colors so here's two nails I did on a day where I was VERY bored. I'm not the greatest at nails yet and am trying to work on becoming better at it...so if these pictures don't look even close to perfect, don't mind my lack of skill lol
So here's the first:
Hello Kitty Nails
I used NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in 105 Starry Silver Glitter and Hello Kitty nail stickers from Sephora.
My take on it all-
I believe the NYC nail polish was only a dollar or maybe it was a $1.50 at the most. I got it from a local drugstore thats like five minutes away from my house. This nail color lasted pretty long, I removed it after a week just because I thought it looked pretty unprofessional at work lol when I did remove it, it took tons of nail polish remover and cotton pads. It was a pain to remove, but for lasting power, it was great! Considering the price and the lasting power, I think that this was a great value. It has tons of silver sparkles in it with blue and light pink "confetti"-ish pieces. It is super pretty, in the bottle and on nails. The Hello Kitty stickers were $5 from Sephora. I know on their site people complain it's expensive but I've had them for a while and they've lasted me for long time, but I only use a few each time to not overload my nails. I added a top coat and it last just as long as the polish, until I removed it.
And here's the second:

Sephora by OPI Blasted Gold Nail Polish & Rumba Romance
I know this is a little old, and I did this like right after the shatter line came out in Sephora, but didn't have any time to post pics and a review. I used two coats of Rumba Romance and one coat of the Gold Shatter/Blasted
My take on it all-
I purchased the Rumba Romance polish on sale for $5 and at first I was skeptical. The color in the bottle looks like a rusty brown color. I wasn't sure what I could even use this color for. When I applied it to my nail, it was perfect. Perfect consistency and opacity, I took my OPI gold shatter and applied one coat over the Rumba Romance. I tried applying the blasted gold color over other non-OPI nail polishes and it came out streaky and ugly. I think it definitely goes the best over OPI polishes. I bought it for full price at $9.50. This polish takes a lot of practice to apply perfectly and I still don't think I mastered it. Also, the polish kind of dries at the top of the bottle making it difficult to open later and it wastes a lot of product. It's really your call, I personally am not a big fan of this polish. I also have the blue one and although both the blue and gold looks cool, I would have rather spent the $9.50 on another color I could actually always use or a bunch of cheap nail polishes instead. Like I could've bought at least 7 bottles of NYC nail polish or 9 bottles of some cheap $1 brand. So I say, it's your call with this one!
| Sorry the quality on this isn't the best, I had to take the picture from far away to avoid shadows on it and then zoom in a lot to show the detail |
Have a lovely day!
